A prime commercial location on the edge of Coventry is to be transformed into a £2.2 million trampoline park.
The new leisure attraction, which will be the first trampoline park in the Coventry and North Warwickshire area, is being created at industrial warehousing in School Lane, Exhall, previously occupied by car components manufacturer RSM Industries.
Leading Midlands commercial property company The Wigley Group acquired the site in early 2016.
It has now agreed a long lease through commercial property agents Bromwich Hardy for the 53,525 sq ft unit with new trampoline park operator Red Kangaroo after planning permission for change of use was granted by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
The park with 75 trampolines is due to open in July following an extensive five-month refurbishment and will create around 80 jobs.
Paul Wrightman, managing director of Red Kangaroo, expects it to attract about 2,000 visitors during a typical week.
He said: “We are delighted to be opening the first trampoline park in the area. This will be our third in the UK after we are due to launch in Reading in May and Nottingham in June this year.
“We chose this area because there is currently no other trampoline park and this site gave us the size of premises that we were looking for.
“We expect to start works shortly with a view to opening in July. Our huge trampoline parks will offer lots of fun-based trampoline activities with a few new surprises too. I am particularly excited about the job creation opportunities our park will attract and the healthy aspect of this leisure facility combining fun and exercise all in one.
“Our focus will be on providing a high quality and safe environment. We will be offering a far different experience to other trampoline parks thanks to our extensive space.
“The individual trampolines we will be using are much larger than those normally seen in trampoline parks. The main park will also feature a large half pipe, cardio wall, power tower and slide, ninja courses, dodgeball courts and an extra-large foam pit and gladiator beam.
“There will be a variety of sessions run including toddler, fitness, Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and disco nights as well as children’s and corporate parties. The park will also feature children’s go karting and climbing, a café and a quiet room.”
The Wigley Group, based at Middlemarch Business Park in Coventry, owns and manages business and industrial parks across the Midlands including Coventry and Birmingham as well as providing services relating to commercial property, facilities management and risk.
