New chance for students to join award-winning property team

22/01/2020

An award-winning Coventry business is launching a search for new talent to join its team as part of a special partnership with the city’s university.

Commercial property experts Bromwich Hardy have teamed up with the employment team at Coventry University to offer long-term placements to students looking to carve a career in business.

The partnership has already enjoyed considerable success and now the company is looking for a new recruit to support its administrative and marketing team.

Bromwich Hardy founding partner Tom Bromwich said the company had been working with Coventry University to offer placements for the last two years.

“We have been able to offer year-long placements and have been delighted with the calibre of the students who have joined us from the university,” said Tom.

“It’s a real win-win. We offer the students a full-time job for 12 or 18 months and treat them as a key part of our team and the students get the benefit of spending a year in the workplace and an excellent addition to their CV.”

Dalvinder Sanghera, employer engagement manager for the Faculty of Business and Law at Coventry University, said: “Employability is a big initiative for Coventry University and our focus is on encouraging students to gain industry placements and work experience to enhance their chances in the graduate labour market.

“We pride ourselves on supporting local companies, as well as national and international organisations, and are pleased to have been able to supply Bromwich Hardy with good calibre students. Existing and previous students at Bromwich Hardy are a prime example of how our placements can help a business grow its own talent.”

Current students Michelle Greene and Chelsea Wright said the opportunity to work at Bromwich Hardy had been a huge boost to their studies and career prospects.

Michelle, who has now returned to university but still works one day a week at the company, said: “It’s been great fun working with Bromwich Hardy for the last year. The chance to spend time with professionals in their working environment has given me a real insight and interest into the world of property and business. I am grateful to Tom and fellow founding partner Richard Hardy for the opportunity and will take the experience I have gained with me as I start my future career.”

Chelsea, who will complete her year-long placement in the summer, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement here. From the start I was treated as a regular employee and have been able to get involved within all aspects of the business. I have learnt many valuable skills which will help me during my final year at university and in future careers.”

Dawn Cooper and Chelsea will be in attendance at Coventry University Employment Fair on Wednesday February 5 from Noon to 3pm to answer any questions about Bromwich Hardy and discuss the opportunities with interested students.

Bromwich Hardy will start interviewing for the next round of placements shortly with students starting at the company in May or June. To register an interest contact the Faculty of Business and Law Employment Support Team at Coventry University by email at employment.fbl@coventry.ac.uk
