Warwickshire’s leading commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy has completed the sale of a substantial industrial site in Rugby for £2.5 million.

Allied Vehicles Ltd, based in Glasgow, has purchased the 2.23 acre site at 6 Somers Road, Rugby, to provide the company with a midlands transport hub to service its showroom in the Midlands, a staging post for all UK deliveries south of rugby and onward deliveries to the ever increasing demand for their wheelchair accessible vehicles in Europe.

The firm, Europe’s leading supplier of wheelchair access vehicles, already operates from premises in three locations in Scotland and on London Road, Coventry, and has added the Rugby site for expansion.

The freehold site was sold by Mark Booth and Tom Bromwich of Bromwich Hardy on behalf of the Modern Plant Hire Ltd Retirement Benefit Scheme.

Mark Booth, surveyor at Bromwich Hardy, said: “This was a significant site in an excellent industrial location, offering a spacious open yard, two main warehouses with additional storage space and a two storey office building.

Michael Tarrant, representing the vendor, said: “Bromwich Hardy found a buyer who really wanted the site, and so we were very pleased to be able to complete the sale to Allied Vehicles Ltd and wish them all the best with their expansion plans.”

The 2.23 acre site includes two buildings, storage room, mezzanine space and storage hut, totalling 17,885 sq ft and is less than ten minutes from the A45 and M45 and 15 minutes from the M1.

Coventry law firm Brindley Twist Tafft & James LLP advised the seller and solicitors BTO in Glasgow acted for Allied Vehicles Ltd.
